When they declared, ‘Why! Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we are although we constitute a powerful group. Our father is clearly making a mistake. Kill Yusuf or expel him to some land so that your father will look to you alone and then you can be people who do right.’ One of them said, ‘Do not take Yusuf’s life but throw him to the bottom of the well, so that some travellers may discover him, if this is something that you have to do.’
(Surah Yusuf, 8-10)
He said, ‘My Lord, the prison is preferable to me than what they call on me to do. Unless You turn their guile away from me, it may well be that I will fall for them and so become a man of ignorance.’ His Lord replied to him and turned away from him their female guile and deviousness. He is the One Who Hears, the One Who Knows.
(Surah Yusuf, 33-34)
Imprisonment and the difficulties he experience gave Adnan Oktar increasing maturity and led him to enjoy ever greater love and respect. Allah gave him abundance, strength, success, opportunities, peace, health, youth and fitness. These events made him known all over the world and led to him being even more popular in Turkey. Just about all nationalist, religious and conservative circles today harbor a deep affection and respect for Adnan Oktar. They benefit from his ideas. Even some people on the left feel a sympathy for Adnan Oktar because of his peaceful, democratic and humane approach. We see this from the letters and correspondence we receive.
However, Adnan Oktar does not direct his ideas and behavior according to people’s love, respect and appreciation of him, nor to their enmity. His ideas, behavior and activities are directed towards one single end, the approval of Allah. Being the subject of Allah’s approval, no matter what may befall Adnan Oktar will, by Allah’s leave, have no impact upon him.
Adnan Oktar’s 250 or so books have been translated into 57 different languages and read by 8 million people to date. Some 200 Turkish-language and 1000 foreign language documentaries have been shown on 150 local TV stations in Turkey and on 120 more in 36 different countries. Some 40 million books a year are downloaded over the internet from more than 300 web sites in 32 languages, and his articles have appeared in more than 500 newspapers and magazines in more than 70 countries. This is all evidence of the respect and affection in which he is held.
